Vivo is preparing to unveil the X300 Ultra later this month, but speculation around a companion device—the X300 Max—has now been put to rest. At MWC 2026, the Max was reportedly shown in a confidential case, sparking curiosity. Today, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao clarified that there is no X300 Max. Instead, the device will debut as the Vivo X300s, and he revealed several key details about it.

According to Boxiao, Vivo had internally debated calling the phone the X300 Max to reflect the scale of its upgrades. Ultimately, the company chose to stick with the familiar “s” naming convention, consistent with past X-series refreshes. The X300s is designed for users who want a large-screen flagship without sacrificing imaging power—a contrast to recent compact, camera-focused models.

Boxiao explained that the “s” stands for “SuperMax”, highlighting improvements across performance and hardware. Positioned alongside the X300 Ultra, the X300s aims to balance powerful photography with flagship-level specs.
