Xiaomi has officially drawn the battle lines in the
competitive mid-range arena. The company has confirmed the first sale dates for
its highly anticipated Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Pro Max, signaling a decisive
moment for the sub-brand that built its reputation on delivering "flagship
killers. For the tech community in India, Southeast Asia, and global markets,
the announcement isn’t just about a new smartphone—it’s about whether Xiaomi
can reclaim its throne in a segment increasingly crowded by aggressive rivals
like OnePlus, Realme, and Nothing.

POCO F8 series Sale Date
Xiaomi has opted for a staggered release strategy to manage
inventory and hype. According to the official announcement, the Poco F8 Pro
will go on first sale on 23 March, 2026, exclusively via Flipkart in India and
the official Xiaomi global store in other regions.
Early bird offers are already live, allowing consumers to
register for “Notify Me” buttons to secure early access windows. Historically,
Poco’s first sales have seen units sell out within minutes, and the F8
series—given the pent-up demand—is expected to follow suit. Analysts suggest
that Xiaomi is positioning the Pro Max as the true successor to the Poco F6
Pro, while the standard Pro model aims to undercut competitors on price.
POCO F8 Pro, Pro Max Pricing
The pricing structure reveals Xiaomi’s intent to cover every
sub-segment of the premium mid-range market.
- Poco F8 Pro (8GB RAM + 256GB Storage): ₹32,999 (~$395)
- Poco F8 Pro (12GB RAM + 512GB Storage): ₹35,999 (~$430)
- Poco F8 Pro Max (12GB RAM + 256GB Storage): ₹39,999
(~$480)
- Poco F8 Pro Max (16GB RAM + 512GB Storage): ₹43,999
(~$525)
These prices reflect the standard launch rates. However,
with bank offers (including ₹3,000 instant discount on HDFC and SBI cards) and
exchange bonuses, the effective price could dip as low as ₹27,999 for the base
model. This aggressive pricing places the F8 Pro directly against the OnePlus
Nord 5 and the iQOO Neo 10, while the Pro Max takes aim at the base variants of
the Galaxy S23 FE and the Nothing Phone.
POCO F8 Pro Max Specifications
The Poco F8 Pro Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity
9500s chipset (3nm architecture), delivering an AnTuTu score exceeding 3
million. It is paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring that app
loading times and file transfers remain lightning-fast.
Both models feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz
refresh rate—aligning with industry standards while offering 3,500 nits peak
brightness. Xiaomi has also emphasized durability this year, with both phones
sporting an IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K rating for extreme dust and water resistance—a
rarity in this segment that was previously reserved for ultra-premium
flagships, along with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The camera setup consists of a dual rear setup with a 50MP
main sensor (Light Fusion 600) with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP
ultra-wide lens. For selfies, both devices include a 20MP front-facing camera,
positioned in a punch-hole cutout.
The F8 Pro Max houses a massive 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery
(India-specific) with 100W HyperCharge wired charging and supports 27W reverse
wired charging. Notably, Xiaomi has bucked the industry trend by including a
fast charger in the box. Neither model supports wireless charging, a
cost-cutting measure that helps maintain the aggressive price point.
The software experience is handled by HyperOS 3 based on
Android 16, with a commitment to 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security
patches.
